The Congressional Budget Office recently concluded that healthcare savings through EMR and e-prescribing may be overstated and are not proven. What is your opinion?

.6/11/2008 3:25:00 PMNot sure
.6/11/2008 5:24:00 PMAgree that savings are probably overstated
.6/11/2008 5:36:00 PMIn the short run they will increase cost, but in the long run may well decrease costs
.6/11/2008 5:37:00 PMjury still out on cost savings
.6/11/2008 7:36:00 PMunclear
.6/12/2008 12:58:00 AMAlternatively, now I can write an unlimited number of prescriptions for my Medicare patients, effortlessly! (Just fooling)
.6/12/2008 3:19:00 AMdon't know
.6/12/2008 11:59:00 AMSaving money is not the issue. Accuracy in clinical decision making and medication administration is the main benefit of an EMR

.6/13/2008 8:48:00 AMNot sure
.6/14/2008 7:11:00 PMHealthcare expenditures are more related to over-utilization by patients+physicians, and by end-of-life, low-utility rescue care

.6/23/2008 1:04:00 PMAnother example of why Congress should stay out of the medical business
.6/23/2008 1:51:00 PMno opinion
.6/23/2008 2:12:00 PMnot enough data to make up my mind
.6/23/2008 4:35:00 PMI don't know
.6/23/2008 9:54:00 PMHow much is the question
.6/24/2008 3:02:00 AMThe EMRs that are available today are a waist of time because they are not compatible or universal. A universal system will save a lot of money but only if it is done by private industry not the government.
.6/24/2008 4:27:00 AMnot sure
.6/24/2008 7:54:00 AMI don't care. EMR has cost me a lot, it hasn't helped, but at least I can say to Congress that I tried to go with the flow.
